I was mildly amused at the extreme opinions expressed in articles by Sarah Kaufmann, who expressed dismay over the Nutcracker in The Washington Post, and Daniel J. Wakin, who reported that there will be a “Nutcracker” smackdown in New York City beginning next year with the addition of American Ballet Theatre’s new rival production in The New York Times.
